Note For Newer Students

Redbud Yoga is an oasis from the busy-ness of life. The Iyengar (eye-yeng-gar) style of yoga starts with each student where she is, whether that is in top physical condition or having some challenges. Our certified instructors, Jan and Carol, will adapt each pose to fit each student’s specific needs. While we all may be created equal, our bodies are very different! And they also may be different than they were ten years ago! While the process of practicing yoga can be very meditative, initially it will probably feel like “exercise.” We keep the mind & body focused by tending to spreading toes & extending fingers, as we practice simple poses called asanas -- ah sah nahs.  By the end of your first class, you will know from your body and mind whether this style of yoga resonates with you. This first class is free so you are “spending” only your time & attention! Check out our Questions & Concerns section for answers to some of your questions, or give Jan a call or text at 217.316.4601.

“Yoga allows you to find an inner peace that is not ruffled and riled by the endless stresses and struggles of life.’ B.K.S. Iyengar
